Scenes where ghosts appear can be found disturbing, startling, upsetting, dark, and suspenseful.

The behavior of the mentally troubled Vincent Grey (Donnie Wahlberg) is disturbing.

A few genuine frights. Eerie atmosphere throughout. The scary bits are so well woven into the story that they are more thought provoking than frightening.
